an explanation of my story

Anagram Generator

I used the anagram generator to create a name for the well known chocolate lover and renowned online chef. I used "chocolate chip cookie" to generate the name "Chocaholic Cookie Pet."

Oblique Strategies

For the first oblique strategy I interpreted it as doing something you haven’t done before. Therefore, I chose to base my game on someone who wants to make chocolate chip cookies but has not done so before.

For the second oblique strategy I interpreted it as moving on from a mistake. In the game I give the choice of either cleaning up a mess or leaving it for later. When you choose to clean up the mess later you carry on with your baking.

For the third oblique strategy I interpreted it as cleaning up a mess that you made. I showed this as cleaning up broken eggs that you dropped.

For the fourth oblique strategy I interpreted it as rewarding yourself from your hard work. Therefore, you eat your delicious chocolate chip cookies at the end.

For the fifth oblique strategy I interpreted it as something that you might struggle with but you end up doing well in it. That’s why in the game even though you play as a character who has never made chocolate chip cookies you end up succeeding.

Within the passage that was generated from my story there is a part that talks about using the correct measurement of chocolate chips. I decided to use this in my story and highlight a choice between using the recommended amount of chocolate chips that the recipe calls for or following your heart.

N+7

When I put my story in the N+7 program it generated a lot of passages that made no sense. I didn’t want to change my story all that much so I chose the words that would emphasize the story more.

Voicebox

When I read my story to the voicebox program I added parts that weren’t originally in the story such as “oh no” and “good job.” I thought it added more characterization to the story.
